So little sleep for us, but it is worth it when we see their faces. When I was younger, my parents did the tree, the trains and the gifts on Chrismas Eve, but that's because we went to bed by 8:00.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8275604737565419913.post-5325053868119155222010-11-30T19:21:28.884-05:002010-11-30T19:21:28.884-05:00Had Thanksgiving in Ohio this year and it was fine...Had Thanksgiving in Ohio this year and it was fine except for the driving. Our son-in-law could barely see the road on the way home with the rain and darkness. But we made it and all is well.

Skipper and I still cut down our tree so we will do that this week. Then putting it up and decorating will be next. When the kids were at home, we never put the tree up until they went to sleep. What nights those were and I now miss them. Besides the tree, it was putting together the toys and we always had some nut or bolt left over. Fortunately, my kids are young enough that I don't buy clothes and have to worry about sizes, so it works for me. And like you, Mia, I love to watch for them to come in the mail.
Our Thanksgiving was spent with family out of state. Yes, the season has begun. So much hustle and bustle, running around, trying to get everything done. How nice a tradition to decorate the tree early and when everyone is together and can join in. And how cute that the kids are able to discern when there are too many red balls in one place.SocialWorker2noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8275604737565419913.post-14816079748064033172010-11-29T19:55:45.005-05:002010-11-29T19:55:45.005-05:00I know, isn't it amazing how quickly we eat a ...I know, isn't it amazing how quickly we eat a good dinner. I'm sure we all have food poisening because we leave a lot of the food out to nibble on thru the evening, and that seems to be even better than when it is all hot. So, by the time the day actually gets here, I am ready to pull my hair out. I like that picture of Bean, Mia. Our Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful. So many people and so much food. We still have turkey left, and I think tonight will be a soup night to use the rest of it.Shellynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8275604737565419913.post-25845026047243941722010-11-29T08:31:02.705-05:002010-11-29T08:31:02.705-05:00Love the story about decorating the tree. Most of the ornaments are on the bottem since the kids can only go so high, but each year it gets a little higher. We have paper chains, popcorn (that the pets eat), cranberries, cookies (that the family eats) and paper snowflakes. It's fun, it's, let's see...unique. As for Chrismas pictures, well, we gave up on that years ago!
I agree about the mall, it's awful and I try to stay away as much as possible.Lorinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8275604737565419913.post-34467179106663172302010-11-28T23:50:17.278-05:002010-11-28T23:50:17.278-05:00How graceful Bean looks!
