Dancing, Parades, etc.

I took Bean to dance on Thursday, because Monkeyboy had a game. We got there early and Bean and a friend were talking about call backs. I watched them in their dance clothes, laughing and moving. More arrived from a class...advanced ballet, I think. Tired, sweaty, but very happy. Bean's class started and the ballet went off their break. What a joy to watch these kids and young adults. To have the ability to watch a teacher do a complicated step, to watch them learn...the process...and then it happens. They get it. And all move together. Limber. Able to move in a way I barely remember. I'm sure there is competition among these dancers, singers, actors. But you wouldn't know it to see them together. Today was the high school homecoming parade. We never had parades like this. The Dr. Seuss float was done by the band, I think. It was spectacular. And what a day for the parade. Warm enough and sunny enough that the Queens and their courts didn't have to wear a winter coat or carry an umbrella. Monkeyboy met a friend and his friend's brother. The three of them got much of the candy that is thrown. Then I went and took pictures for my photography class. I still have more to take, but this is such fun! Another perfect day in Pittsburgh. Hope your weekend is wonderful and sunny.

It's nice when you struggle with any new thing and then you get it. A nice feeling of accomplishment. The Autumn picture is spectacular. Such beautiful contrast and color. This is a lovely time of the year.

My daughter dances, she just started two years ago. She loves it. The children are very cute, no one really knows what they are doing, but then at age five, I didn't either. How did you take that picture of Leading Line? That is a really neat picture. The weather here has been great also. I'm sure we will pay for this later! Have a good Sunday.

I remember my homecoming in senior year. I went with this kid I didn't like because I wanted a date. He did the same. We actually had a great time because we weren't trying to impress each other. We went to our reunion together, too. I won't say which one, but we had a blast. Sometimes friends are better than lovers.

It has been the best summer and autumn here ever. Been cleaning up the yard, finishing up in the house before the next project. Great pictures. Sam, sometimes you can have both, a great friend and a lover. Or at least so I am told! No Steelers this weekend. Ben needs to rest whatever that is that he has.

Dancing for me this weekend consisted of doing a Pilates DVD. What absolutely gorgeous weather we had. Perfect. Planted some perennials that are allegedly deer resistant and moved some bulbs around. If I can move, the plan tomorrow is to do more yardwork and finish my Rain Garden.

If I had my baton, I would have been in the parade.
