The Elite Eight

Pitt plays in a couple of hours, and I await the game with anticipation. They haven't made it to the elite eight before, so tonight would be the first, I believe.
Yesterday was a beautiful sunrise. Bean was embarassed because I was taking pictures from the car window. I pick Bean up and take her to the bus stop each morning. It begins my day in a happy way. Then I race to beat her bus onto the boulevard. I usually win. My work day begins in much the same way each and every day, with some variations, of course. Today it was stopping for gasoline for the new car. I am getting 23 miles to the gallon, not too bad, but not as good as the Celica.
I usually arrive at work at the same time each day. Sometimes I meet Kitty and we walk in together. Sometimes I SEE people that I really don't want to walk in, so I pretend to do something in my car until they are ahead of me, because it is just too much small talk for me.
I haven't seen the elderly man walking his elderly dog lately while I drive to work. I hope he is okay. I will miss these small things when I leave my job in July.
We had a meeting today for my co-workers. I love these meetings. They are informal. We have lunch at a pre-determined restaurant. Today it was Mitchell's Fish Market. We usually have one person pick the restaurant. Then we discuss policies, questions about policies and helpful hints. I have the most extraodinary group of people. They all have the best sense of humor, which keeps us all sane...well, more sane.
I don't much like fish, so I had a cheddarburger. I usually have that. Most of the people stick to the same thing...one eats salmon, one eats salads, one eats chicken. We are a predictable group. We share desserts. Today it was carrot cake and some other concoction. Delicious.
I have been surfing blogs, and some of the pictures on the blogs are incredible. I will get very serious about this when I leave in July. The best time to take pictures is in the early morning and late in the day. I could do it now, but I am just too tired!
Well, I shall try to catch up on some things here before the game tonight. If you watch, cheer for Pitt. Have a sunny day, we are having much needed rain showers...will help the flowers grow!

I think we are all creatures of habit, Mia. And change is always hard, but one finds new ways to adapt. And, new ways to avoid! It sounds as though you work with a nice group of people. It helps to have some fun while we work. I think being in the field that we are, we appreciate those things. I'll cheer for Pitt, but do I have to watch?

Well, I hope to see the beginning of the Pitt game anyway. Tonight is my volleyball night. I'll be cheering for them as I play.

I love your sunrise shot and looking forward to you having more time for more picture taking.

It's going to be a whole new lifestyle when you retire, Mia, but I know you will adapt well and always find something to keep you busy. And the old friends will always be there for you.

I love fish, and eat it almost every day. Not much of a red meat eater. Nice pictures, Mia. I go for a run early in the morning and it is very much my routine. I see much of the same things also, people walking, walking their dogs, other joggers. It is nice to see the same things day after day in a kind of routine. And it does make one wonder when they don't show up for days on end. I hope the man and his dog are okay. Go Pitt.

Some blogs do have incredible pictures. I like all of yours, mia, they are interesting. I like the one of the tree against the sky. Sounds like you work with some neat people. My day is never the same. I try, but as much as I try, it never goes the same. I guess that keeps it interesting. Volleyball, Ginger? We play in the summer, but I never thought of looking for some folks to play in the winter. Sounds like fun. Where do you play? And how did you get a team together?

Real flowers look prettier than plastic ones! Nice pictures, mia.

I see no men have commented yet, must be that stupid basketball game. I hear lots of yelling from the den. I am told that Conn. has to go down tonight, whatever that means. But it they are playing Pitt, I guess it is a good thing. I like the picture of the tree. We have a routine here every morning, but no one follows it.

You are right KW, we all probably were watching the game. But back to work today and time to sell my house. It is as done as I will get it and I need another one to work on. The game was spectacular, never a doubt in my mind that we would win. Now, looking forward to tomorrow night and another win.

Good game and am looking forward to tomorrow night. I think we all find a sense of comfort in things that are familiar to us, mia, but how exciting to be finding new things to excite you. I work with a great group of people also, but we are laying off again and hopefully none in my department will be going.

Haddock, salmon, pollock, tilapia, CATFISH...Well you get the idea. Mia and I have this conversation everytime. I just don't understand how you cannot like fish. I bet Ava does! Luv the Sunrise pic. Driving to work this week, I have my camera in the car and I'm thinking as to how I can capture the hues of the sunrise and the positioning of those spectacular colors. Also, betting that Mia is most likely thinking the same. I'm actually looking for a place to pull over but I never think to hang out of my car window. Was Bean driving, Mia? And Dear Benji, if you are moving, does that mean you will be leaving us? No, I did not get hit in the head with a basketball. It was actually very quiet at my house last evening. I really don't understand all this big eight, march stuff.

Interesting, Kitty, when I see the sunset in the morning on my way to work, I think of Mia also. The sunrise and sunset pictures are beautiful. I don't know how to capture those colors, my camera just washes them out. We probably won't hear from a lot of the guys because of this basketball thing. I think this is the end of it. Ben can't leave, he's a part of our family here.

We have pro basketball here, and I don't even like that! But I suppose March madness is a right of spring. Yes, Mia, I often surf the blog sites for photographs. Some of it is a little too artistic for me. I agree, and I like early morning the best, especially along the river with the city waking up. Keep taking the pictures, even if you do nothing else. Ben, not a real good market to be selling, is it? Do you renovate homes and flip them?

All of my bulbs are coming up, the daffodils, the tulips and all the other ones. Hope we don't have a frost!

I think Conneticut is going to be hard to beat, but I'll cheer for Pitt. It would be nice to see them as the final two, since Pitt beat them in the regular season.

We have daffodils and our tulips are budding. I love it. Things are really green here, so I think it is truly spring now.

Well, Angela, we ladies have been playing for about 35 years. When, I say that, there are only maybe two of us left from the original group. Starting playing in a school gym when all our kids were little. It was a good reason to get away for a night.
We still play in a gym but in a different school. The original school is now apartments and houses. Life goes on!
