A Perfect Weekend

What is your idea of a perfect weekend? Is it the weather? Is it the family time? Is it reading a good book? Going to a sports activity? To the museum? Perhaps a concert?
The Pens won yesterday afternoon. We had to plan around that event. We ended up at a sports bar. As we walked in, the crowd went wild with a goal that we had just scored. I mean, absolutely wild. We are a sports town. Then we raced back to the house to see the end. Philly has a great team, but we took the series. Now we wait to see who we play next. I understand the cup isn't until June. Wow, that seems so far away.
Bean, not feeling well, played lacrosse Friday night. She is getting much better very quickly, if that makes sense. She looks like a gazelle as she runs down the field, really very graceful, fast and in control.
Monkeyboy played a scrimmage game yesterday and had a hit everytime at bat and did some excellent fielding as well. They have a girl on their all boy's team this year. She also runs very quickly.
Sprout makes her first holy communion today. I will be leaving for church in a few minutes.
Ava is enjoying the open windows. She is an indoor cat, which I guess is mean by some people's standards. I fear her getting hit by a car, so I keep her inside. She was making the oddest sounds this morning as she was talking to a bird outside the window. I was watching her as I was contemplating getting out of the very comfortable bed.
So, this is what makes my weekend perfect. I even read my book and am almost finished. Reading, sitting at a little league field and lacrosse game in the warm (okay, hot) sunny day in the burg, seeing the Pens win, a wonderful dinner with friends and Sprout making her first communion. About as good as it gets.
Have a wonderful Sunday.

You have pretty much described our weekend, too, Mia. The Pens did an amazing job of beating the Flyers. Sundays are usually family days in our home. Saturdays are running around days. We keep a big erase board in the family room with chores for Saturdays, and if we complete them all, then it's ice cream sundae night at our house! Just being with the family and having a good time is my idea of a perfect weekend.

I think a perfect weekend depends upon my mood. Sometimes a rainy weekend lends itself to reading books, watching old classic movies or taking a nap in the middle of the day. Other times, getting out and riding my bike, going for a run, watching a band concert in the park makes for a perfect weekend. This weekend was an active weekend since the weather was good.

Blading around the park on a warm spring day. Watching all the people and ending with a picnic in the park. In the winter or rainy weather, going to all the museums. Happy Sunday!

Gotta love those Pens! Played some baseball today with our team, went to art all night last night. Love that event. It is fun and displays some really nice artwork. Yesterday, watched the Pens of course. My perfect weekend.

Of course, my relaxing weekend would be spent at the mall, checking out all of the wonderful spring sales....they are too numerous to mention.

I love weekends! My weekends are Sunday and Monday, and I like it because everyone else works on Mondays! I really do what I have to do, get it out of the way, then visit with friends, read, watch movies.

Usually weekends are for running, shopping, transporting kids from one event to another. I think the ideal weekend would be rainy, so we could just sit at home, play some board games and watch a good movie, with popcorn, of course.

This weekend we decided to NOT do everything that we don't get done during the week. Everyone got to pick one thing that we could do as a family, so we went to the park and played frisbee, then we went to MickeyD's for dinner, to church (guess who thought of that) and then played monopoly. And mia had a new post. What a great weekend we had.

It's been rainy and cold here. A good weekend to begin spring cleaning. Did I just say that? We didn't clean, we just hung out and pretty much did nothing! And it felt sinfully good. Sounds like you had a blast, Mia.

I did do some cleaning, had to make room for summer clothes to go somewhere. I keep just shuffling them back and forth, never really getting rid of anything, just moving it from place to place. I wish I could get rid of some of this junk!!

I think the perfect weekend is a weekend where you can be with people you love and do great things that bring you pleasure.

It rained here all weekend, so the kids built blanket tents and we all played games and slept! A pretty nice weekend, actually.

Oh, I know those kitty kat vocals well. Ava thinks that she has made a new friend. But with friends like that...

We have a cat (in addition to the dog) and she is an outdoor cat. She's eleven years old, and often brings us home "presents". We don't much like the presents, but she seems very proud of herself and seeks praise from us.

As old as I am I remember when there was a lull between hockey and baseball, and a lull between baseball and football and so on. But now they all run together and we have sports networks that have sports 24/7. Ahhh, how times change.

Dancing the night away while watching hockey.

I'll go with the hockey, Tim, but not the dancing. Who are the Pens playing next?

Bill said...

We won't know until tomorrow night, Kevin.

Well, Mia, I guess we are going to be doing the Pens game again. I think they play this weekend but don't know who yet. Another close to home restaurant?

Any weekend that is warm and sunny is a great weekend whether it means outdoor fun or indoor work. Got the summer clothes out too and now it's cool again. Happens every year.
