Lessons and practice

I want to play my guitar on stage with Bruce Springsteen. And Clarence. I had a guitar lesson tonight. Monkeyboy takes drum lessons. He practices EVERY day. Bean plays the flute...she also practices. Don't get me wrong, I practice. But I AM very busy, you know. There's poker, and the book I have to finish before I have to mortgage the house to pay the fine. Monte, my instructor, has a wealth of patience. I think he should, because he is a stay at home husband and father who cares for his two young children. And he has me as a student. That takes patience, believe me. Monte amazes me. He listens to a song and writes down all the notes in five minutes time, then says "let's play it". So, I pretend and he plays. I love the lessons, and I always think I am going to someday play really well. Practice. OK, but can I finish this poker tournament.....oh, yes, then the book. It's a really good book. Besides, I don't want to put Stevie Van Zandt out of business. But someday......

Well, you know what it takes to get to Carnegie Hall, practice, practice, practice.

If not, You can always play at the Fire Hall. Maybe Bruce started out there too.

I like that, Ginger. The Fire Hall, ha ha ha. It looks like a nice guitar, I guess. I had to take piano lessons. Hated to practice, so I'm with you on that one, mia. But I have to say, people are impressed when I sit down to the piano and play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Maybe we can have a duet, mia. Do you know that song?

Poker? You play poker? Hold em? I love to play poker, but I'm not very good. What books do you like? So, let's see, so far, Bean plays flute, Monkeyboy plays drums, Sam plays piano and you are all coming to NYC to play at Carnegie Music Hall. I'll practice the kazoo. Ginger, what will you play?

For me it would be, "There's bunco..." Good for you for practicing! Have you heard my sweet sis-in-law (the one in Cedar Rapids) play piano? Like. An. Angel.

Do you mean travel agent niece of mine? I've never heard her play piano, just Mimi. Oh, and Blond cousin #1 and Bean.
