Getting Ready

We leave for New York City on Thursday, and we are counting the days. We are a group of singers, we are. Each person has their own part to a song. Monkeyboy beats out the song with drumsticks on the back of the seat and also chimes in on the singing. MY goal is to learn the words to this song. Mippy and I attempted to sing it and yelled to Bean "Hit it" for the chorus. Bean is too young to remember this song, but perhaps she will read the blog and she and Monkeyboy can practice it.

Michele is photographing a wedding tomorrow, her first I think. She told a co-worker about it and he was very mean about it. She takes wonderful pictures, but she is nervous, so keep your fingers crossed that she doesn't trip the bride!

Kitty SOLD one of her beautiful bags yesterday. They are truly unique and eye catching. I am thinking she has a second career here.

Know this is short, but Pens are playing, so gotta run. Have a good one.

Boy, that brings up some memories! Of course, it was all before my time ;). It makes one wonder what our legacy will be for our grandchildren, doesn't it? Congrats Kitty! How exciting. And Michele, my fingers are crossed. You will do fine.

I remember when this first came out and everyone wanted to know the words. I just sang along with it, but I doubt I could memorize it. I think it does put things in perspective, doesn't it? Photographing a wedding, how exciting. Good luck Michele. The only problem that I see is you won't be able to enjoy the wedding! By the way tigger, did you arrange for the event at Grand Central Station?

Pens won! And it's off to play tomorrow night. So, it's off to NYC for Mia and company. Hope it is all that you expect. My wife plans all our vacations and does a super job of it. A nice blend of activities and down time. I like Billy Joel, haven't heard too much about him. I agree with Angela, it does make one wonder if things seemed as bad then as they do now. Kennedy killed, astronauts dying in blast offs. I remember that one.

A great game for the Pens. Won't be any jumbotron tonight. That is the most fun, sitting there and cheering outside, sometimes in the rain.
Love Billy Joel and that song. There is a version that shows all of the news events mentioned. It's on you tube also.
I have to work on this house today, and if I accomplish half of what I set out to do, I'll reward myself by watching the game with refreshments close at hand.
Keep us posted on progress of learning the words, mia. Sounds like a great trip.

Oh, mia, it would be so nice to go on vacation right now. The kids are so wound up anticipating the end of school, and the spring weather is calling to me. What a perfect time to get away and just relax. Have a wonderful time and keep us posted. I, too, remember the song. I think I remember it best for reminding us that our President at that time was killed. How sad that must have been. Ben, is this your new house? What all has to be done? And do you want to come live in our house...just for a while, until everything is completed.

Be still my heart, all of those stores for shopping in NYC. Much better than the mall. I hear Macy's could take a whole day to get through. And then there is all of the speciality shops. I also sang the song, Jen, and mia, if I learn all the words, can I come with you?

Sorry, I am not able to get u tube as you know, Mia. Maybe you can show it to me sometime tonight. So, I don't know what song you are talking about but from the previous comments, it sounds like "American Pie". I'll find out later.
I know you'll have a good time in New York, Mia, you always do. Even if the shows are bad (as usually they're not) I know you just enjoy being there. Have Fun.
GO PENS!!!!

The song was "We didn't start the fire", Ginger. Get Mia to show it to you. It's fun to see the words and sing along. I am attempting to get Grand Central Station ready for us, but darn, they are putting all these roadblocks. I can't imagine why they don't have the same vision that I do.

That song brings back lots of memories. Mia, does this mean we will miss your weekend blog? What will we do? I hope your trip is wonderful. Sounds like you will have lots of fun. I guess we should hope twigs and tigger get the dance arranged.

Twigs, you from NY too? Small world...I'll work on GCS also. Maybe we should at least have a mini-reunion when Mia and company get here. So, we have a Pittsburgh group AND a NYC group!

We seem to like this song Tigger, so this will be the song to which we dance. K? I remember reading when B.J. flipped his grand piano over on stage in Russia. Guess something must have annoyed him.

Last minute packing plans...Remember the lap top, camera, baton, pom poms, and pink ballet slippers. Ken and Barbie too for the tea party. I like oolong tea, Kevin. Oh Sassy, what will you wear? Sorry Benji, no room for the dog! :)

What a game! What do you mean, no room for the dog? That is cruel. Guess that is what we would expect from a CAT. I'm bringing the dog, I don't care.

The pink tutu, I have it ready to go.

From north of Philly, Tigger.

I think I will have to go shopping, Kitty. I have nothing to wear, and this is always a good excuse to shop.

Sounds like Kitty is busy, very busy, packing. Kitty, are you using one of the bags you painted? If it is one that is on your blog, it is very pretty.

Are you taking the chipmunk or beaver or whatever it was on this trip, Mia?

The wedding went well, thanks to all those who well wished me! My solution to stress... overshoot it! But then you have to process the pics. At least I cut it down from 2000 to 1200. I made poor mia look through most of them and my sister the trooper, looked at them all... twice.

Mia - hope you're having a lovely time in NYC!
