And the Winner is.....

They did it...won four games in a row for the Championship. The guys looked tired tonight, but Monkeyboy said he wasn't. This team has come a long way since the beginning of the season. An excellent coach who taught teamwork as well as the game...so here is to Coach Glenn and the team...GOOD JOB! Bean and I sat on the hill overlooking the ballpark. BB's mom was there with her dog, JJ, aka Jade. Jade is a black lab who is very sick. In fact, they aren't sure JJ will make the night until tomorrow when she can see the specialist. So, here's hoping JJ does better than she has been doing. BB's sister, about age 6, came running up the hill with a bottle of coke and some chips. Her mother asked her where she got them and she said "daddy bought the chips, and I found the pop". Her mother freaked and said "don't drink the pop" to which BB's sister replied..."I already did". Oh, the joys of motherhood. Little sister number two was throwing up dirt from the field as the players got the trophies. Just picking it up, throwing it up in the air, having a ball. Ahhh, to be a child and find joy in throwing dirt up in the air and drinking from a found bottle of pop. Congrats to the team!

Hope the Black Lab feels better. Dogs can be OK but why are they are always chasing cats?

Congrats to the little guy on the baseball successes! And no more injuries at least for a while.

Because they are there, that's why. I hope the lab feels better also. I am a dog person, but I can tolerate cats. Hey, Monkeyboy, good job. How wonderful the progression. Keep moving, but most of all, have fun.

Hey Monkeyboy, I knew you could do it! You guys rock! Neat trophy. JJ, get better. How sad, it's so hard to say goodbye. Love the story about the soda. Moms can be so tough. What's wrong with sharing? After all, if you are thirsty and there is a soda there, well, what the heck?

I love it, don't drink the pop. Great game, Monkeyboy. Bean, are you his #1 cheerleader? Hope JJ gets better. It is so sad to see a pet suffer. I love throwing the dirt up in the air and as a mom, I say "STOP IT NOW", but only because I remember those moments as a child.

I enjoyed watching Monkeyboy every second of every game, I couldnt be more proud of him or his team. The best part of kids his age playing baseball is seeing them play together. There is a true and honest side to all of them. They care and support each other. If a kid on either team gets hurt, all of them are concerned. When a kid cries after being hurt, not a single one of them laughs, they truly play the game with honor and grace. To bad the so called "adults" that so many of the young kids look up to as atheletes have been tainted by money and greed. They seem to have forgotten what is really important in life. If you ever want to just relax and smile for an hour straight, go watch a bunch of 7 year olds play any sport.

Bird, I couldn't agree more. It sounds like a wonderful way to spend a summer day or evening. Teaches kids so much, both the teamwork and how to handle defeat. I feel badly about the dog, when mine died I had to take the day off work. Went out a week later to the pound and got another one.

Why am I not surprised that Ben is a dog person?

Conrats to monkeyboy and the whole team. What a great achievment and the trophy is icing on the cake.

Keep up the good work. Who knows if you guys make the big time in baseball, we can we knew you when.

Kitty, even though I am a dog lover, I do get along with SOME kittens. Cats are fun, I had one with my dog and together they were a lot of laughs to watch. Just read Bird's comments, so very true. My nephew plays t-ball. He spends a lot of time looking at the airplanes, clouds, cars going by, almost more fun than watching the dog and cat. Kitty, have you seen Monkeyboy play ball? I'll bet it is fun!

Hey Ben. Can't say that I ever saw Monkeyboy play ball. He did draw me a picture and I still have it on my office door. Just shared a bowl of milk with my neighbor's cat who has been sleeping on my back porch all day. Very hot-90 degrees today. Cool Cats are always welcome at my house.
